This is our class standing in front of our school. The colours of our school are red, yellow, and turquoise. The name of our school is Doncrest Public School. Our school was built in 1990. The day we took this picture it was very snowy.
This is our classroom. Our room number is 109. We have a really big classroom. We have a big carpet area where we listen to stories, lessons and use equipment. We also have a painting centre, a sand table, a toy house, a math box, a lot of books, a computer area, a building area, a puppet theatre, a writing centre, and a morning activity centre. We have a sink in our room and we even have our own bathroom. We keep our jackets and shoes at the back of the room.
This is a picture of the library. We always read books there. It is fun to read books. When we go to the library, we see the librarian Mrs. Pinchuk. When we come to her library, Mrs. Pinchuk reads us a book. When we finish listening to the book, we always get to take out a book of our own. The mural on the wall behind us was just painted this year. It is beautiful and is really, really colourful. We also have turtles in our library. We can only look at the turtles, we can’t touch them.
Hi! Here we are in one of our computer labs. This lab is in the library. We know how to logon and use the games on the computer. We have another lab too. In the other lab there are 24 computers. We really like using the computers.
Here we are going inside. We have a lot of play areas at our school. We are going in through kindergarten and daycare play area. They have a big climb on toy that they get to use. We usually play in the field. We like to play tag, soccer and wall ball during recess. In the summer time when there is no snow, a lot of children like to skip and play hopscotch. We can’t wait until the snow melts!
Here we are building snowmen in the forest. Everybody is having fun. The forest is right next to our school. We are not allowed to go in there by ourselves. We can only go with a parent or teacher. In the forest, there are a lot of trees, a path, squirrels’ nests and sometimes you can even see a fox. Last year, one of the teacher’s found a baby raccoon that had fallen out of its nest. She took it to a place where they take care of lost animals.
Here we are in the gym. In our gym, we can play soccer, basketball, floor hockey, hula hoops and tag. Usually the big kids use this gym, and we use the smaller one in the next room. We also have concerts on the stage that is behind us.
