In Canada sports is an important thing to Canadians.  It brings the spirit into each and everyone of us. 

Some of the most popular teams in Canada are, the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Toronto Raptors, the Toronto Argos, the Calgary Flames, the Toronto Blue Jays, and the Edmonton Oilers.

Hockey’s a very popular sport in Canada. The Toronto Maple Leafs are a hockey team in Canada. Their goalies (the person who protects the net) are Ed Belfour and Trevor Kidd. Their captain (leader) is Mats Sundin. In hockey you are only allowed 5 players on the ice. Three forwards and two defense man. Many children across Canada play hockey with family and friends. Hockey’s a great way to exercise and have fun.

Basketball’s also a popular sport in Canada. Many people go to watch Canadian teams play such as the Toronto Raptors. Even though they may not win every game fans go and cheer them on. When kids play it’s the exact same thing. Parents ,other adults, and friends come and cheer on the players. Vince Carter is the star player for the Toronto Raptors.

Now that you’ve learned about hockey and basketball why don’t we move onto baseball. Baseball is a game that’s not just popular in Canada it’s popular all around the world. In the United States, Europe, and even in Australia. Both kids and adults play. Chenin Stewart is one of the top outfielder’s for the Toronto Blue Jays.
